Welcome everyone! I'm Esset, and I'll be your guide through this fabulous little bloggy thing! So, basically, what I'm aiming at here is a blogged representation of the sort of life I've always wanted to live. I figure, talking about it openly and often ought to keep me focused on who I want to be. So, there we go.
A brief biography: I was born September 24, 1991 in Everett, WA. My mom says I didn't cry when I was born- I just looked around at everything. Apparently, it was the first and only time in my life that I was totally quiet. I had a pretty basic childhood, switched schools a lot, lived in apartments, stuff like that. My father and his wife had a son when I was eight, and my mom and (step)dad- who I lived with- had a son themselves when I was almost twelve. I was always kind of chubby, but didn't realize it until high school. I graduated from an online school program while living in Tacoma June of 2010, and moved to Olympia that September to start college at Evergreen. Now, I live in West Olympia with my long-term partner, Paul, and a plethora of stuffed cows.
Things I dislike: Sexism, the animal industry, racism, homophobia, trans*misogyny, ableism, fatphobia, running out of coffee, having a kitchen too dirty to cook in, cleaning the kitchen, dust, sneezing repeatedly because of dust, when dogs sniffle the bottoms of my feet while I try to write "About Me" pages on blogs.
Things I very much like: Rottweilers, cows, coffee, tea, iced tea (they're on completely different levels), taking walks in the sun, reading a good book, sign language, kissing the cute boy I live with, feminism, veganism, cooking food, eating food, enjoying life.
What is this blog about? Basically, it's about me. My interests, my life, and the positive changes I'm trying to make in it.
What changes? Working on my social anxiety and taking control of my depression. Learning how to live a happier, healthier, more ethical and fulfilling life. I'm going to be blogging a lot about my experiences with more whole vegan cooking, my fitness, diving into yoga and meditation, drinking way too much iced tea, and all kinds of things like that, as well as just what's going on (so expect to hear a lot of apartment cleaning and DIY wannabe stuff).
