Sorry I'm Not Posting Much.

My computer is super on the fritz. But I'll try to throw together a decent update next time I can get my hands on the boy's laptop.

Baby Carrot Time!

This weekend was pretty hectic! I made (the world's ugliest) carrot cake for my charming partner's 26th birthday.

Today, my student and I are doing some work at my local community garden plot! I have had the worst luck with this garden so far, but I figured I'd give it one last shot. We wound up finding three beautifully growing lettuce plants and a ton of itty bitty carrots! My faith restored, I transplanted the carrots and laid down some new seeds. Hopefully it'll cooperate better this time.

I know it looks like I went a little skimpy on the frosting, but it's really rich and there's a big hole in the middle full of it, so I thought I'd go easy on myself.

Killing Time Before Class

With this amazing book, "The Vegan Slow Cooker." I waited for months with this thing on my "hold" list at the library, and I am certainly not disappointed! This thing is amazing! The recipes in here are so simple, and sound perfect for a guy or gal with work, school, and a partner who doesn't know where anything in the kitchen is.

I'm definitely going to be breaking out the crock pot pretty soon (I'm lucky enough to have two, a large and a mini, so I could make an entre and a sauce at the same time) and giving some of these fabulous recipes a spin- I'll let you guys know how it goes!

Also, my first copy from my subscription of "Yoga Journal" arrived today, so I'm pretty thrilled with that. It's been a good day, but now I have to go to class. Whomp whomp whomp.
